A good haircut shows from the side
The mirror judges a haircut from the front; everyone else sees it from the side. So we take the line from temple to nape without a single step and check it in two mirrors before the cape comes off.
The polubox — Russian for “half-box” — is the short back and sides our grandfathers wore: tight temples, a clean nape, one precise line. We still cut it, along with everything that came after: fades, crops, longer shapes.
